HWC Blog

Still no water, but don't lose your minds yet, We are hosting the Rock & Wake Event Presented by BacksideFIVE on August 20, and the cable will be running and pulling all the wakeboarders, there will be Live bands, Djs, a bikini contest, food, drinks and fun for all. Come out and enjoy some time with your fellow wakeboarders and Houstonians. Look forward to seeing you here.

Note: Because of the lack of rain the Boat lake has been compleately shut down until we get some much needed water. We will update you here when the lake officially opens back up. If you want to take lessons or take a set please look into the ERC Infinity 2T cable system it is a great way to get some time on the water without spending a lot of green.

Where has all the water gone?!? Well when your life and hobbies revolve around the water you have a love hate relationship with the rain. I can remember summers in my youth when i would litteraly sit on the boat under the bimini of my Dad's Baja and be almost in tears parked on the beach watching a storm ruin the lake and my day on it. Well now I am sitting under the awning at HWC and cannot possibly get any more bummed that I don't see a storm on the horizon. If you are a religious, spiritual or just enjoy praying please pray for rain in Houston we all need it. Until next time i hope you are enjoying the water we have.

P.s. summer camps are going great and we still have ome open spots but they are filling up fast so give us a call if you want to get rid of your kids for a week.

The Cable park with both obstacles is now open any time HWC is open so get a few buds together and come out and have a great time. Look forward to seeing ya'll soon.

The second obstacle is almost complete. We are currently installing a 88' rail with a 24' long entry slope up to a 40' long 5' tall flat bar and a 24' long exit slope. Because of its symetry it is ideal for our ERC cable because it will be rideable heel or toe side for regular and goofy footed riders. This Rail is Sponsored by BacksideFIVE Premium Action Sports Apparel and should be ready to ride by the week of march 14th at the latest. We should also have the second half of the kicker installed before too much longer. stay tuned to nautiqueway.com for the latest details.

One down many to go. We installed the first obstacle today and had some testers out to ride it. It seems to go over well. It is a 3.5' tall 12' long 6' wide kicker. We have had a lot of fun with it. check out the pictures on our obstacle page. Many thanks to Klint Calongne and ERC for the sponsorhip of this kicker and all the testers for coming out and braving the cold water.

January 26, 2011- "The Ceremonial First Blog"

Welcome to the first Houston Watersports Blog. I (Derrick Cunningham) will be writing this blog to inform you of any current or upcoming events and/or specials we are proposing here at HWC.

Well alot of stuff has happened over the past few months including our partnership with ERC (Endless Ride Cables), Camp Wake, BacksideFive, the Houston Boat Show, our new website, and our new HWC cable park. So naturally this blog will be longer than the regular updates I plan to make.

We are very pleased to announce the addition of ERC (Endless Ride Cables) to the HWC family. Endless Ride Cables are the first 100% American made and American owned cable company based right here in Houston, Tx. If you have not experienced the pull of an ERC Infinity 2T cable please feel free to come out to HWC and experience the power, smoothness and awesome enginering yourself. The ERC is set up right next to our Sesitec 2.0 (which is currently the most known 2 tower cable system) so that you can ride each of them and compare for yourself. HWC is an Authorized Dealer for ERC and is currently taking orders for the ERC Infinity 2T.

We are also pleased to announce Camp Wake. HWC will now be the primary location of Camp Wake. Summer Camps will begin on June 5 and we will run our overnight, day, and mini-day camps throughout 9 weeks of the summer. We host ages 7-17 for our overnight camp and if you aren't signed up yet, be sure to check out the Camp Wake page on the left side navigation bar.

BacksideFive sports apparel has now been selling in the HWC pro-shop since August of last year. We are proud to add this Houstonian owned and operated clothing company who specializes in "Premium Action Sports Apparel". Come out and check the shirts, hats, belts, belt buckles, and hoodies on display at HWC.

The Houston Boat Show is over and I wanted to just add a little blurb to anyone who came out and supported HWC and the other Houston area dealers and vendors.

Welcome to HWC's new Website. This website is now completely re-designed, updated, and controlled by HWC and myself. No longer will we have out of date information. We are now featuring a recurring blog, a featured 'Service' and 'Cable' special that will update up to three times a month, a featured new or pre-owned boat, monthly, and the most up to date information available about the HWC cable park, new obstacles, summer camp bookings, and service lead times. All in all I'm saying "stay in touch and browse around the new website", you never know what you might find.

Last but not least for the "Ceremonial First Blog" is the introduction of our new Cable Park. It is up and running featuring 2, yes 2, cable sytems on their own private lake. Obstacles are being completed and will be in the water very shortly. Continue to check this blog for updates.

Thanks for reading the first of many blogs to come I hope you enjoy.
